The local diner pick, a few minutes up the road toward I-95. Big omelets, strong coffee, and the kind of service that's been voted Jacksonville's best more than once. Go early on weekends.

A small, family-run spot right on SR-200 — quick service, generous lo mein, and the kind of place locals order the same thing from every time. Takeout travels well back to the room.

A locally owned coffee shop up on US-17 with homemade sweets that regulars specifically drive for. Worth the detour before a morning on the road.

Yulee's longtime Mexican standby, serving the area since 2009 — chimichangas, fajitas, and margaritas in a full-service dining room. The highest-rated spot on this list.

Tucked literally under the A1A bridge on the Amelia River — a bumpy dirt road, a dockside deck, and shrimp and grits worth the detour. The closest taste of Old Florida to the hotel.

An old gas station on Amelia Island with no real sign and a line out the door. Breakfast and lunch only — the burger is famous, the Friday fried shrimp more so. Part of the charm is finding it.

Seafood · Fast Casual·$$

Order at the counter, grab a picnic table, and work through a basket of wild-caught local shrimp. Fast, fresh, and easy with kids — there's a play set out back. The farthest drive on this list, and worth it.
